5 things I love...

List 5 things (not people) thatyou love: Then tag only 5 people to do the same! Thanks for tagging me, missusbotwin!

1. The autumn- There is no better time of year forme.  The crisp, cold air, the smells, thecolors and so much more.  There issomething quixotic about the beauty of this season.
2. A good book –Being able to lose oneself betweenthe pages of some masterfully written tale. This is not to mean that I have apreference between fiction or non-fiction.
3. The forest- Wandering in something much more immensethen ourselves, away from the city lights and sounds, allows us to take stockin our being.  Taking time away from theelectric buzz of our daily lives allows us to recharge on levels only our ancestorsunderstood.
4. A thunderstorm – As a kid, there were summers thatI was blessed to spend with my grandparents on the farm in Missouri.  Being able to stand out in the back yard andwatch the behemoth plains thunderstorms roll in from miles away was…. amazing.  The fierceness and veracity of these stormsare exciting and terrifying. With each flash of lighting and roar of thunder Ifind perplexing peace.
5. Log cabins – Being surrounded by the utter rawness ofa log cabin, stone fire place, cast iron stove, is so comforting.  The sound architecture beating back theoutside, while being part of the outside is paradoxically beautiful.

BONUS All the above, at the same time – That’s right.  Being in the forest, in the autumn, during a thunderstorm, while being in a log cabin with a good book… sigh. Though this is not to beabout people, of course I would want my beloved bride, beautiful children, andmy incredible dog there.
