Doctors office thought/rant
This is one of the many reasons that I hate going to doctors offices. I am fully aware that today is a very busy day for this office. I am also cognizant of the fact that there are many patients who are in much worse shape than me, and that they should be treated fee first. But I just feel that there is something inherently wrong with keeping a patient sequestered in a room for over two hours waiting to be seen. Again, I know that the doctor here is VERY busy, and that he is very thorough. But what about the rest of the staff. You know, the ones that I have sat and listened to for the last 20min as they discuss what they have been up to this weekend and what plans that have when they get off work. Could not one of them walked around to all of the patients rooms, those of us that have been waiting for some time, and checked on us? Seen if there was anything that we needed? Let us know that we had not been forgotten? I guess that is too much to ask for from a healthcare worker. Not when there are more pressing matters to consult with your coworkers about. Things like if your fresh pedicure will get trashed by the sand at the beach that you and your boyfriend are going tonight. Perhaps a point of clarity should be provided to all who check in at your establishment, a disclaimer of sorts. Something that says though we have an amazing, hard working doctor with us today we, the rest of the staff, do not embrace the idea of what our office is called. That though you may feel that you desire some form of care, that you do not, indeed come first.
In other news, the doctor, who was working his but off today, was beyond fantastic. He did such a good job that it made the time I waited worth it.
