15 Movies
I was tagged by @thedaddycomplex for the top 15 movies thing that has been going around. This was harder than I thought it would be. I am not sure what this selection says about me… but enjoy!
300
I am still in awe of this movie. One of the biggest things that I have to say is one of the things that I heard from many that they did not like. Simply this, the scene where the elephants come into battle. Many said that they did not like how monstrous and large that they made them. But think about this for just a second. You are in the thralls of battle and here comes a huge animal that you have never seen with a dude on top of it… how big would it look to you.
Blackhawk Down
Quintessential modern day combat that captures some of the hell that I, and many others have seen.
Casablanca
How can you not like this movie? The quick wit and fast pace outdoes many of the movies done these days.
Fiddler on the Roof
The music, the dancing, the story… all about a dad who has watched his little one grow up… and not wanting her to leave just yet. Hopefully I am years from this, and for my daughters sake, there will only be a fraction of the singing when that time comes.
It Happened One Night
Guy sees girl, guy thinks girl is cute, girl is on the run…. so many funny parts, I just love it.
Poolhall Junkies
Ok, truth be told, order aside, this is and has been my favorite move for a VERY long time. If you have not seen it, go watch it, you will not be sorry.
Rent
Say what you will, but this movie is a hard hitting love story that knows no bounds that will have you singing, cheering, laughing and bawling like a baby.
Romeo and Juliet
I have always loved this story, ever since I read it (and its adaptation “The Moonlighters”) in the fifth grade. Normally not one for ‘modernization’, this one was VERY well done.
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
I love watching this movie. No matter my mood, the weather, the time of day, if I am not going to watch Poolhall Junkies…. this is my go to.
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
Such an amazing, funny, and well thought out musical. So many parts make me laugh.
Song of the Sea
Recently found this one on Amazon. Started watching it for the kiddos, and I think that we have now seen it 4 times? Great story, interesting animation, and just all around great. Totally worth the watch.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens
I mean… come on.
The Nightmare Before Christmas
I LOVE Halloween, seriously I had a Halloween tree for years. I love the songs, I love the story, I love the stories within the stories, I love zero.
The Princess Bride
Comedy, romance, drama, this move has everything. It is everything.
The Secret of the Kells
This is another one we recently found on Amazon. The story, and the progression is amazing, if you have prime, watch it!
