Over the river and through the woods...

This… is… #dad2summit

It was a cold and windy day as the bus wound its way throughthe farms of northern Virginia. Fifty participants had been selected, gathered, packed into a bus, and shipped out.  Asthe gentle swaying of the bus rocked back and forth, the riders began toconnect with each other. Somewhere in the back a melody started. “The wheels onthe bus go round and round…” to which much laughter and even more groaningresponded.

I was fortunate enough to jump on the limited tickets forthe Best Buy drone excursion put together in partnership with 3DR.  They bussed us outside of the “no fly” zonethat surrounds out nation’s capital and provided us with some amazing BBQ, andsome fly time with the new 3DR Solo drone.I am completely amazed with the ease of which these drones fly.  Having some experience with smaller drones, and even some larger ones from other companies, I was blown away with theresponsiveness to the controls.

It was incredible to learn more about the best buy bloggernetwork, and to hear why they are reaching out to dads. I also enjoyed beinginterviewed by Best Buy about father’s day, and having to sign a release that Iam now a model.  I was also interviewedby Plad Dad for his screaming dads podcast, and I look forward to seeing whatcomes from both of those.

When our time was up, we loaded back onto the bus and madeour way back to the hotel.  Though veryfull of BBQ, and a little tired, we were not heading back to rest.  For this excursion took place before thesummit was to begin, so the party was only getting ready to get started.

I AM A CRANIO DAD, I am scared out of my mind and I believeI can fly!
